Writer Diva

I draw energy and inspiration from God, my family, nature, and the written word - by reading books - which in turn inspires me to write. I believe if we have the courage to share the better part of ourselves, others will be inspired to share as well.

About Me

My photo
Donelle
A native of the Pacific Northwest, I was born in Portland, Oregon, and have lived in Washington State since 1988. I write short stories, poetry, and memoirs. I owe my love of books and the craft of writing to my late father who encouraged reading and following my dreams. In addition to being a wife, mother, and grandmother of five, I earned a B.S. in Arts & Letters from Portland State University. I am a six-time finalist and two-time award winner with Pacific Northwest Writers Association's and Oregon Writers Colony’s writing contests. Through the Tunnel of Love: A Mother’s and Daughter’s Journey with Anorexia was published in 2011. In 2015 my young adult/women’s contemporary novel, Between Heartbeats, Book One of the Heartbeat series, was released. Book Two, Heartbeat Interrupted, will be available fall of 2017. I belong to Oregon Writers Colony, Rivers of Ink, and Write on The River.
